For many companies, it is no longer a matter of producing individual Environmental Product Declarations, but of being able to manage more products, variations, and updates in an efficient way. As requirements from customers, procurement processes, and the market increase, it becomes clear that the traditional way of working does not always go far enough.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9ba6dbca wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why EPD tools are needed to manage more EPDs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Elitf\u00f6nster, this became particularly clear. The products are configurable in a very large number of variants, where the choice of glass, materials, and components can have a significant impact on the climate footprint. Traditional EPDs therefore became too blunt in relation to customer needs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur products can be configured into an almost infinite number of variants. The tool is specially adapted to Elitf\u00f6nster\u2019s conditions and built to work within its own operations. The user does not need to be an LCA expert to work in the tool. Instead, the work is guided through an interface where it is easy to enter data and find the right options.   <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure quality, the tool is based on predefined choices adapted to Elitf\u00f6nster\u2019s products, materials, and processes. This makes it easier to get things right from the start. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A tool that strengthens internal capability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tool makes it possible for more roles within the organization to work with climate data and EPD-related issues. The work therefore began by understanding the users\u2019 needs, the product logic, and the existing working structure. A major advantage is that Elitf\u00f6nster can evaluate different solutions from a sustainability perspective early in the development process. With a tool-based way of working, it becomes easier to adjust background data and ensure that future calculations are based on up-to-date information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A particular strength of the solution is that the tool is fully pre-verified according to the rules of the International EPD System. This means that the tool itself has been reviewed and quality-assured, so each individual EPD does not need to be verified separately.
