Milj\u00f6giraff has been a partner throughout this journey, from training and capacity building to specialist support in LCA and EPD development.<br\/> <\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axjo started building knowledge before the requirements came into effect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Axjo began expanding its work with <a href=\"https:\/\/miljogiraff.se\/kunskapshubb\/vad-ar-lca\/\">life cycle assessment (LCA)<\/a>, customer requirements were not the main driving force. The company wanted to stay ahead and build knowledge before demand for product-related environmental information increased.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This also marked the beginning of the collaboration with Milj\u00f6giraff. Milj\u00f6giraff has contributed expertise and support at different stages of this development. It is about building knowledge that can be used across the business. The results can support decision-making and help set priorities, while also being integrated into product and business development.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowledge gained from the LCA work is also used to support Axjo\u2019s carbon footprint calculations, including those related to Scope 3. More product-specific data can provide a more accurate basis for these calculations than relying solely on generic values.<br\/> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In spring 2026, Axjo and Milj\u00f6giraff completed their latest project together. The work covered parts of Axjo\u2019s product range, including cable drums and transport and storage crates. Axjo provided product and operational data, while Milj\u00f6giraff was responsible for modelling, calculations and analysis, among other tasks.<br\/>  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand for carbon footprint data and EPDs has grown since Axjo first started working with these issues. EPD information can, for example, be included in wholesalers\u2019 product portals, making it accessible to their customers, including for use in procurement processes.<br\/> <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same LCA work can therefore create value on multiple levels \u2013 by providing knowledge and supporting internal decision-making, contributing to carbon footprint calculations and making standardized environmental information available throughout the value chain.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Vi anv\u00e4nder kunskapen fr\u00e5n v\u00e5rt LCA-arbete i b\u00e5de produktutveckling och materialval. Ett konkret exempel \u00e4r att resultaten tydligt har visat v\u00e4rdet av v\u00e5rt retursystem, vilket har st\u00e4rkt v\u00e5rt beslut att forts\u00e4tta investera i och utveckla cirkul\u00e4ra l\u00f6sningar med fokus p\u00e5 \u00e5teranv\u00e4ndning. As a manufacturing company, Axjo uses both materials and energy. Just because a product contains recycled materials does not mean it has no environmental impact.
